For couple relationships to be healthy, signs of love must be continuous and not only expressed on a date such as Valentine’s Day. Psychology and Communication Specialists have pointed out on several occasions that it is important to be empathetic, work in good communication, and think as a team to have a happy, long and stable life as a couple.
Psychologist Antonella Galli says that when a relationship is long “the passionate part changes and becomes a romantic love”. It is not a negative change but the evolution of the relationship.
The Specialist recommends activities that are good for both. “Don’t do automatic things. I mean, not just watch movies on Netflix. It is always better to do new activities such as surf lessons, ecotourism, or make plans out of the routine to be more united”, she adds.
Therapies can also help love relationships improve. According to Galli, people should go to therapy when they realize that they do not feel well in a relationship or when one of them feels that the other is not giving enough love whether at the emotional or sexual level.
Admiration
Non-verbal Communication Specialist, Rosa María Cifuentes, adds that it is very important that the couple have the same moral values and mutual admiration for the relationship to work. Ms. Cifuentes points out that the latter is essential, whether for professional or academic achievements, but the most important thing is to admire the values and emotional intelligence of your partner. It is never too late to improve the relationship.
