What is ionizing radiation?

It is a technique that benefits more than 80% of oncology patients. In many cases, it is the only thing they require to cure the disease; in others it is administered together with chemotherapy or it is performed jointly before or after surgery to have a better chance of completely removing a tumor.

What do Radiosurgery treatments consist of?

• Far from being invasive, these treatments allow the elimination of more malignant cells in a few sessions (1-5), and destroy the blood vessels that nourish them, generating a greater tumoricidal impact. This is achieved with good immobilization, optimal tomographic imaging before each treatment, and good control and follow-up of the patients.
• These therapies are not only administered at the cerebral level, but also extra cerebral, being useful in patients who cannot be operated on due to comorbidities, for example, in cases of lung, liver, pancreatic, prostate cancer and patients with metastases.

What is high-dose brachytherapy and what are its benefits?

• This state-of-the-art radiation technique allows high doses to be administered close to tumors that are accessible either by proximity to a cavity or by the insertion of perforating devices.
• It allows the reduction and disappearance of tumor masses with unbeatable success rates compared to other techniques.
• It is especially useful in patients with cervical, endometrial, rectal, prostate and skin cancer.
